Bolstering Canada-China S&T Cooperation through the Exchange of Knowledge and Experts in Life Sciences, Renewable Energy, Environment, and Sustainable Agriculture
WINNIPEG, Manitoba, August 10, 2011 – In the presence of colleagues and collaborators at the 2011 Canada-China Science and Innovation Platform Meeting in Agriculture and Agri-Food, ISTPCanada and CAIEP extended a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) that promotes the interaction and exchange of scientific and technical personnel over the next four years. Building on the successful outcomes of an initial MoC established in April 2009, the organizations committed to continue enabling the exchange of highly skilled Canadian and Chinese personnel to foster Canada-China S&T collaboration in priority areas such as agriculture, health, energy, environment, information and communications technologies (ICT) and nanotechnology. These bilateral interchanges often lead to the development of new relationships, expertise and R&D projects that deliver downstream economic and social benefits to Canada and China.
