Call for PDAs between Canada and Brazil
This is a Canada-Brazil Call for Proposals (CFP) for collaborative partnership development activities (PDAs) funded by International Science and Technology Partnerships Canada (ISTPCanada) and an eligibleBrazilian team with its own funding.
The objectives of PDAs are for groups of researchers to explore innovative ways of cooperation in order to work, collaboratively, on solutions to existing problems and/or innovative improvements to current technologies.
PDAs may take the following forms:
· Scientific seminars, conferences, symposia and workshops, as well as participation of experts in those activities
· Activities that involve exchanges of scientists, technical experts, industries and academics
PDAs do not include participation in recurrent conferences or tradeshows.
This CFP is open to groups of researchers consisting of participants from both Canada and Brazil with the following minimum requirements:
a) The PDA should be completed in 1 year.
b) This PDA should fall under one of these priority areas:
- Information and Communications Technology (ICT) - including Software
- Energy – specifically Renewable Energy and Fuel Cells
- Life Sciences – specifically Bio-Health and Medical Technology
c) A balance of contributions to the PDA must be seen between both partnering countries.
d) Proposals should identify the objectives of the activity and how the activity fits into the applicants’ strategic plans for collaboration with the partner country. For example, a PDA output could be a decision to conduct a bilateral collaborative R&D project, or a decision to bilaterally work towards building a centre of excellence. Please see the “Call For Proposals Announcement” for more information.
